HEADLINE: GOD CATCH THEM! Kidnappers Who Murdered Doctor’s Brother Arrested After Bringing Sick Child to Same Doctor for Treatment!

They say the world is a small place, but for two notorious kidnappers in Edo State, it just became a prison cell after a "twist of fate" that sounds like a Nollywood script.

In a shocking development that has set the internet on fire, the Edo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of suspects linked to the brutal abduction of Dr. Abu Babatunde and the cold-blooded murder of his younger brother, Abu Tahir.

The "Holy Spirit" Plot Twist

According to police reports, the drama unfolded at the Specialist Hospital, Auchi, on Sunday morning. Two suspects, identified as Idris Abubakar and Sani Abubakar, reportedly walked into the hospital premises to seek medical care for an ill child.

Little did they know that the doctor on duty was none other than Dr. Abu Babatunde—the same man they had kidnapped on January 2nd, tortured for weeks, and released only after a ₦50 million ransom was paid.

The Identification

The Doctor, showing incredible bravery and "ice in his veins," recognized the men immediately. One of the suspects, Idris Abubakar, was allegedly the particular person who received the ransom money during the doctor's ordeal.

Instead of panic, Dr. Babatunde discreetly alerted local security operatives and the Auchi Divisional Police. Before the suspects could realize their mistake, the hospital was surrounded, and they were taken into custody.

The Backstory of Pain

This arrest brings a small sense of justice to a tragic story. On January 2, 2026, Dr. Babatunde and his younger brother, Tahir (a fresh medical graduate), were ambushed at their gate in Auchi. While the doctor was eventually freed, Tahir was murdered by the gang and his body was abandoned by a riverbank.

Police Statement

The Edo Police spokesperson, Eno Ikoedem, confirmed that a third suspect, Saminu Kawujie, had been arrested earlier in a forest operation and was also identified by the doctor. Investigations are now intensified to dismantle the rest of this notorious gang.

Is this the ultimate "Karma"? Drop your comments below and share this post to celebrate the bravery of Dr. Babatunde!
