A Nigerian roadside roasted corn seller has sparked widespread reactions after claiming she earns about ₦2.5 million in monthly profit from her business.
Her statement comes just weeks after Nigeria's First Lady, Remi Tinubu, encouraged Nigerians with limited capital to consider small businesses such as selling roasted corn, fried akara, and kuli-kuli.
During an interview, the vendor was asked how much profit she makes from selling roasted corn. Her response left many people surprised:
"Per month, I make like ₦2.5 million."
The claim has since fueled online discussions, with many questioning whether such earnings are realistic, while others believe it is possible depending on the location, customer demand, and scale of the business.
