The battle for custody between Afrobeats superstar Davido and his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu, has taken a shocking, emotional turn that has left fans stunned.
Just months after taking the matter to a Lagos High Court, Davido has officially withdrawn the custody suit for their daughter, Imade. But this wasn’t a peaceful resolution—it was a dramatic exit filled with anger, heartbreak, and accusations of a "lowest blow" by Sophia’s legal team.
"Lowest Blow" – Why Davido Dropped the Case
Davido took to social media to clarify that he never sought sole custody, but rather joint custody to ensure he could be a present father in Imade's life. However, the courtroom proceedings became too painful for the "Unavailable" crooner to handle.
In a blistering statement, Davido alleged that Sophia’s lawyer crossed a line that no parent should ever cross, referring to the tragic death of Davido’s late son, Ifeanyi.
"I’ve decided to drop the case because when I was spanking that lawyer in the courtroom... until she brought out her last card! MY DECEASED SON! THAT’S A NO NO! Lowest blow!" – Davido via X (formerly Twitter).
"You are a Wicked Human Being" – OBO Attacks Counsel
Visibly heartbroken and furious, Davido didn't hold back in calling out the opposing counsel, identified as Ebelechukwu Enedah. He accused her of lacking empathy and behaving unprofessionally during cross-examination.
"I disgraced you in the courtroom, I was teaching you your work, you couldn't even take it, and then went on to mention my son," Davido wrote on his Instagram story. "Like I said in the courtroom, I pray you never go through what me and my wife have gone through ever... You are a wicked human being."
What Next for Imade?
Davido emphasized that there is no winner in this fight, stating that Imade is the only one who loses when parents fight this publicly.
Despite walking away from the legal battle, Davido reassured fans that his love for his daughter remains unwavering. "My daughter will grow up knowing I fought for her... let's move on. One love!"
