Rapper Yung Miami ignited a social media controversy by accusing South African pop star Tyla of stealing the concept for her upcoming single, "Chanel."
The City Girls rapper, Yung Miami, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, October 16, 2025, to claim that Tyla's new track, "Chanel," closely mirrors a song she had previously shared with the Grammy-winning singer.
"This girl really ran off with my song and ion know how to feel about it mind you I played this song for this girl 🤔🤔🤔," Yung Miami wrote. She continued her posts, adding frustrated remarks like, "Like..... Bitch I’m confused!" and "Don’t matter it’s my mf song!!! [link]"
The dispute centers on the lyrical theme—a luxury-inspired hook referencing the word "Chanel." Yung Miami claims her unreleased song used the phrase “Take me to Chanel,” which she asserted was superior to the other version: "Take me to Chanel > put me in Chanel."
Tyla, globally known for her hit "Water," has not yet responded to the allegations. She first previewed her version of "Chanel" during a private fan event in July 2025.
